Make Up Trending 2016

Your lip colour can be used as a “colour blocking” technique against either your outfit or the rest of your makeup.  Apply an all over bold colour on the top lip and another bold colour on the bottom for

Best result.

  • For those who have cool undertones, I would suggest going for a bright bubblegum pink paired with a light lavender or purple shade. It’s all about working with lip colors that have cool undertones.
  • For those with warm undertones, I would suggest going for a hot coral paired with a dazzling bright fuchsia. The effect is sure to get you noticed.

3.  Stacked EyelinerThe colour stacking technique is going to be hot in 2016.  This is the method of using a “Base” colour such as Black, Brown or Graphite stacked with an accent colour such as blue, olive, plum or gold eyeliner to make the eyes pop. For a subtle colour stacking affect, add the base colour closest to the eyelid line and the pop of colour as the outside layer. For a more dramatic effect, add the pop of colour closest to the lash line.

5.Talk with the Eyes: this season, it’s all about the eyes. Let your eyes do the talking by going for bold, colorful looks. Experiment ,step out of your comfort zone and try an eye color palette you’ve never used before. Yellow eye shadow anyone? Maximize the effect of statement eyes by downplaying your lips with nudes.

5. Matte Look: with the sun and humid air, you really don’t want any glossiness on your face that ends up in a sticky mess. Keep your look together all day long by using mattifying products. This applies to powders and lipstick. The use of a light, water-based moisturizer beforehand is recommended, to prevent the skin from drying out. Try Rimmel London’s Stay Matte Pressed Powder, filled with natural mineral for shine control; No.7 Beautifully Matte Facial Primer and the range of matte lipsticks by Classic Makeup.
